Nigerian Wikimedians for Sustainable Development Campus Tour 2023

With a huge and teeming population, Africa and Nigeria suffer a dearth of online content about its people with more content available on Wikipedia about the city of Paris than what can be obtained on the entire African continent. Most people in Nigeria have not been sensitized about concepts such as climate change, and global warming and how they can contribute to making the environment safe for living. Not only are there few articles about Africa but far fewer in local languages to help with education on the subject of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and this poses a hurdle because before action can be taken there must first be knowledge through education and if this information is not readily available in local languages such as Igbo and Hausa there will be no grassroots adoption of these goals. We hope to bridge the content gap by creating articles related to and which can be consumed by Africans and our work will be specifically focused on SDGs (Goals 3,5 and 13).Nigerian Wikimedians for Sustainable Development
