From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Discussion finished, Result is CLOSE. --MF-Warburg(de) 15:46, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to close this discussion within 5 days from now, if there are no objections --MF-Warburg(de) 17:08, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only activity on the Oriya wiktionary is the index.php spambot. Ahoerstemeier 16:10, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arguments in favour[edit]

  1. I agree. There is no content and no-one to maintain this wiki. Better close it. --Johannes Rohr 06:49, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Delete, another spamtionary --Ooswesthoesbes 11:51, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Nothing but spam. Cbrown1023 talk 21:03, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Support No content: wikt:or:Special:Allpages --A. B. (talk) 13:59, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Support No Oriya content, no Oriya activity. 12 index.php spambot pages. --Jorunn 21:32, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arguments against[edit]

Hi All

As you know Orissa is a state where illiteracy and poverty is a curse for the People. Much people are not aware about the topic related website. Kindly wait for some more times, if no one is still interested to post some Topic. Then better to close it. -- The previous comment was not signed by their author, 220.225.96.51 at 15:34, on 13 February}}

It is closed now. > «If no one is still interested to post some topic then better to close it?» What for? Just to give the chance to the possible odd user to be dissuaded by having to request and wait for reopening or, even worse, having to edit in the Incubator? Anyway, no use to lose one's time with impatient, spam-obssesssed people who use those kind of arguments and result in making things more difficult to possible editors of the wiktionary in Oriya. Spam in small wikis is not now the problem that used to be but there seems to be no cure for impatience. I am sure the ones who voted for closure did it in good faith but after all it is just the same old story once again: the ones who have to pay for others' (in this case) impatience are the ones who always do actually pay; as they always pay indirectly (but painfully) the actual bleeding seems mostly to be exclusivelly due to "other complex factors". In a nutshell: not helpful at all. --79.72.130.182 21:45, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

General discussion[edit]

Important: If you go to the original Oriya Wiktionary, the main page shown by default is an empty page, not this. I found the proper main page only by checking the Special:AllPages of the project. This means that the site is not informing properly about its closure. --79.78.6.163 12:32, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info, I moved it to the correct mainpage and added a sitenotice, in case they change the name of the mainpage on betawiki again. Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 14:57, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks, Birdy. --79.78.6.163 23:35, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
