Wiki Loves Literature is an online edit-a-thon on Wikipedia which is initiated to improve the quantity and quality of literature-related content onWikipedia. Currently, we are planning for a very short period event. Likely it is going to happen in the month of May 2021. This event is organised for Punjabi Wikipedia only.
What is the Idea behind this project?[edit]
During Corona Pandemic, a lot of researchers (of our local community) were looking for some online academic sources or information for their research needs. As an alternative to institutional libraries, we have to develop Wikipedia as a cyber platform that can fulfil any researcher or student's academic needs. So, this idea comes from there and the event will try to improve basic literary writings, authors and notable articles.

Guidelines[edit]
- It will be only for 15 days
- The event will be only based on Punjabi literature
- Participants must add a few things in every article (New or Expanded article):
- * Add External links (If there is any work on writing or author, For example - add any research or newspaper article link, Thesis etc.)
- * Add See also
- * Add more references
- Article should have correct or genuine information.
- The article structure should be according to Wiki policies.
- Without reference articles will not be accepted.

Second thing is please check if any article is already created or not. Result Summary[edit]
Wiki Loves Literature was organized to improve the quality of academic and literary content on Punjabi Wikipedia. The Punjabi community responded to this event with great enthusiasm. Around 10 editors signed to participate. The users were Satpal Dandiwal, Simranjeet Sidhu, Mulkh Singh, Satdeep Gill, Gill jassu, Ninder Brar Farmer, Rajdeep ghuman, Gill harmanjot, Nitesh Gill and Gaurav Jhammat. Total 32 articles were edited, developed and created under this event. The contribution was focused on the addition of qualitative information, references, categories and photographs in Wikipedia articles.
Additional thoughts: For notifying the community, information posted on Punjabi Wikipedia's village pump as well dropped a message in social media chat group around fifteen days ago. Also contacted a few interested people who were willing to edit Wikipedia articles. A mini-workshop was also planned for some university students who were willing to learn Wikipedia editing and wanted to participate in this event. But unfortunately, the very next day from it started, due to a pandemic lockdown happened and some willing participants couldn't participate in this.
