Report 2021 – 2022 Wikimedia Mali

Unfortunately, we have not been able to do enough concrete activities, particularly wiki projects and competitions, because we are no longer able to obtain subsidies from the wikimedia foundation.

A situation that we have reported so that any sanctions or restrictions that prevent us from developing can be lifted. We spoke to Véronica about it from Kigali, Abidjan and Agadir. But we have had no concrete plan to help break the impasse.

Mali is going through a lot of difficulties and the activities of associations and NGOs have slowed down significantly due to the energy, financial and social crisis.

For four years now, Mali has been experiencing a major socio-political crisis. And since that time our community has suffered all the difficulties preventing us from carrying out our activities. We no longer receive subsidies. Despite this, we try to resist and stay the course so as not to disappear.

We are trying to mobilize our community to come back more determined. Despite all these difficulties, particularly the lack of financial subsidies, we are trying to restructure ourselves to move forward. In 2024 we will try to

*Attempt to execute our action plan

*Very soon set up a board of directors who will advocate with our authorities so that Wikipedia can flourish.
