From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
  • elk grove high school. being late for school and making it to classes, coming home and working on my classes
  • homework at study hall, but if i have extra i'll do it at home. use cell phone especially for history and chemistry and wikipedia especially
  • i usually use school computers, they are everywhere. laptops are limited (what and where). but i use my laptop at home. for fun activities too.
  • facebook, youtube, google and wikipedia second.
  • i don't like searching on other information sites, first that comes up, easiest to find.

wikipedia[edit]

  • it is my dictionary for everything.
  • i use it to figure out normal things that normal people should know that i just don't know.
  • i use it everyday in school for vocabulary words, but a lot to find information - how to make my hair soft if i don't have conditioner.
  • facebook: main source of creeping on people. keeps me in the loop without having people hate me talking about them. pictures of me and my friends, statuses. from phone at school. if i'm not going out, i'll sit on facebook and just hang out with my laptop.
  • computer when it's something too long, i don't go too much unless i have down time or really need to.
  • computer - i can find the links to see if it's correct information (references) but on my phone i can't as much.
  • i can only assume it has the correct information (personal), for school i can't do that. have to verify. if there's no link i won't trust it. i'll check background information

devices[edit]

  • had chocolate touch from verizon. have flip blackberry. it was new, but now it's kind of new to me.
  • i could have had internet on the last one, but my mom didn't want to pay for it.
  • organized. facebook app,
  • ipod - i use it at school, it's always under the desk because my phone is not ok.

wp[edit]

  • wikipedia.org
  • search in wikipedia for christopher columbus
  • explanation of things even my teachers didn't explain.
  • wikipedia goes into a deeper process - more deep into the information. teacher will explain what imperialism is but she would have never told me everything that's on there.
  • i don't go to google, it always takes me to wikipedia and the others aren't valid. or doesn't have the links that can prove it to you. it became my school best friend.
  • if i can't find anything i'll end up going to find a history book, but that sucks.
  • pictures....not as much - solid information.
  • keeps you updated with information you would have never known.
  • i'll look at in the news. community portal - bulletin board. i didn't really understand it. got distracted and stopped looking on it.
  • click on view history - has timelines - have clicked on it but don't understand how to use it
  • has used info for wikipedia from school that wasn't correct.
  • sometimes more information on the website because the book is old.

other activities[edit]

  • tumblr and all kinds of sites. most of the time i use my phone. i used twitter once and didn't like it and it was pointless to me
  • (facebook on xbox) - i have a view of it and it doesn't look like it and the controller. it confused me. wii it looked the same but it doesn't like to connect to the internet.
  • on my computer i get different (youtube results) as on my phone. have an account and posted a video. i used to rate, but i don't have my password.

mobile[edit]

  • computer =- real things - mobile - dumb little things
  • mobile - shows disambiguation more clearly - "i've never seen that before"
  • blackberry - doesn't have table of contents?
  • ipod - before i had a phone with internet but now my phone
  • oh it has the links
  • slacker radio
  • one thing: basic information to just get the point across.
  • computer: readability > organization > links > references
  • mobile/bb: organization > readability. don't care for links or refs on my phone - just trying for general idea
