Donor engagement - UK[edit]

We've run a series of donor editing sessions in the UK, and found that some donors are very enthusiastic about sessions. We've started getting pretty good feedback as well, and identified a demand for evening and weekend sessions which we may be able to arrange (there is a bit of a mismatch between when our volunteer trainers are available and when our donors are free). We've been using the 2011 donor data which is a bit stale now, but hopefully if the UK becomes a payment processor again in 2013 we can revive the program.

In terms of material we started by categorising images on commons, and shifted to adding commons images to Wikipedia. Donors seem to find image adding more satisfying and it doesn't require referencing so it makes for a quick progression from total beginner to first edit that makes a big impact.
