Shared Knowledge/Strategic plan 2021-2025
The Strategic plan of Shared Knowledge for the 2021-2025 period outlines the long-term priorities of the organisation that aim to meet the needs of the organisation's stakeholders. The scope of the organisation's programmes generally covers the Wikimedia projects in the Macedonian language as well as Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata.
This strategic plan consists of five priority goals (PGs) that the organisation aims to achieve over the designated period and the achievement of each of the priority goals will be supported through five objectives. Furthermore, the plan was developed in line with the Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy Recommendations, which resulted with an assessment of their applicability to each of the identified priority goals.
Priority goals[edit]
The organisation has identified five priority goals (PGs) over the period 2021-2025. They are:
- Sustain community growth
- Increase content coverage
- Improve content quality
- Increase capacity development
- Identify new forms of knowledge
PG 1: Sustain community growth[edit]
We will increase the sustainability of our community by supporting its needs and investing in its capacities in order to achieve a high level of community health as a necessary precondition for sustainable community growth. The concept of sustainable community growth has three dimensions: 1) editor retention, 2) editor attraction and 3) editor reactivation. Our efforts will focus on securing a core community of a size that will not hinder the future development of the projects.

The achievement of this priority goal will be supported through the following five objectives:
- Organising editing challenges that motivate editors to get involved extendedly.
- Organising events that allow editors to make decisions efficiently and socialise.
- Conducting offwiki projects that attract participation of community members.
- Collaborating with interested external groups that may enlarge the community.
- Commending the work done by the community through external channels.

PG 2: Increase content quality[edit]
We will be permanently increasing the quality of content on the Wikimedia projects by engaging the community and collaborating with external groups in possession of knowledge. The achievement of higher content quality will be pursued in two ways: 1) use of the available knowledge resources and 2) identifying new knowledge resources. Our activities will aim to provide high-quality content that will increase readership and make the Wikimedia projects a more reputable and relevant source of knowledge.

The achievement of this priority goal will be supported through the following five objectives:
- Organising editing challenges that focus on the creation of quality content.
- Conducting offwiki projects that focus on the creation of quality content.
- Collaborating with external groups in order to get access to knowledge resources.
- Digitising works and materials to increase accessibility to knowledge resources.
- Creating a knowledge resource centre that will support quality improvement.

PG 3: Improve content coverage[edit]
We will be permanently increasing coverage of content on the Wikimedia projects by discovering unrepresented knowledge and undertaking measures to make it available. The achievement of wider content coverage relies on integrating the following two dimensions: 1) coverage of content already covered in other languages and 2) coverage of content not covered in any other language. Our work will widen the content coverage that will increase readership and make the Wikimedia projects a primary source for currently unrepresented knowledge.
- Objectives
The achievement of this priority goal will be supported through the following five objectives:
- Discovering relevant areas of underrepresented knowledge that attract readership.
- Organising editing challenges that focus on widening the coverage of content.
- Conducting offwiki research activities to acquire materials for the underrepresented knowledge.
- Collaborating with external groups in order to get access to underrepresented knowledge.
- Promoting the increased coverage to attract readership and stimulate localisation in other languages.

PG 4: Increase capacity development[edit]
We will improve the skills and competences of our human resources by supporting future personal development and increased engagement in a learning environment. The process of increasing capacity development involves the following three forms: 1) arranging training and mentorship programmes, 2) allowing for experience sharing and learning and 3) connecting with competent stakeholders. Our efforts will focus on acquiring capacities that will allow us to provide efficient leadership and high operational effectiveness.

The achievement of this priority goal will be supported through the following five objectives:
- Organising workshops and mentorship programmes for the community members.
- Creating and translating existing tutorials for the community members.
- Stimulating skilled and competent members to take leadership roles.
- Connecting to and learn from knowledgeable and experienced stakeholders.
- Securing equitable representation in discussions and decision-making.

PG 5: Identify new forms of knowledge[edit]
We will be searching for and introducing new forms of knowledge by conducting research activities and identifying the instances of knowledge at risk of disappearing. The achievement of this goal will be pursued in the following three ways: 1) converting old to new forms of knowledge, 2) discovering and introducing new forms of knowledge and 3) creating new forms of knowledge on their own. Our activities will aim to present the available knowledge in a more usable way as well as preserve and popularise the knowledge about neglected groups.

The achievement of this priority goal will be supported through the following five objectives:
- Conducting research activities in order to discover new forms of knowledge.
- Conducting offwiki projects in order to create new forms of knowledge.
- Developing ways of introducing the new forms of knowledge on the Wikimedia projects.
- Collaborating with external groups engaged with the identification and creation of new forms of knowledge.
- Undertaking measures to preserve and popularise the knowledge about neglected groups.
