Q 1 What is your Recommendation?
Development, Research, Investment and Improvement of existing tools to help organize content creation by the professional network partners (Thematically driven partnerships, like GLAM Institutions, Educational initiative, Medical collaborations, Wiki Loves.. etc).
This includes developing a Partnership framework that addresses the present day gaps in advocating and promoting open code distribution culture and the free software movement and helps in integrating and bringing new Partners to the ecosystem.
Q 2-1 What assumptions are you making about the future context that led you to make this Recommendation?
Working with external partners for in-built tools like Optical Character Recognition (OCR) where shared codes can promote innovation, GLAM institutions for development of Native API (Application Programming Interface) integrated with Wikimedia projects, developing the Programs & Events Dashboard, Open Street Map based solutions for geovisualization and multilingual content as required in a specific GLAM Project.
Q 2-2 What is your thinking and logic behind this recommendation?
The consistent ability to innovate within the Wikimedia Movement in line with the changes happening in the global space is essential and important.
Q 3-1 What will change because of the Recommendation?
The free-knowledge Wikimedia domain would enhance and expand as it receives assistance from different partners. In addition, we will not rely on single volunteers developing tools for the community, but rather make sure tools are properly owned: researched, maintained and keeps being developed, so that volunteers, affiliates and partners will be able to do their work in an efficient and scalable way.
Q 3-2 Who specifically will be influenced by this recommendation?
Wikimedia Movement Partners would find merit of their work while Wikimedia Movement would be able to address some of the technology gaps.
Q 5 How does this Recommendation relate to the current structural reality?
Their is a technology void which has been restricting if not supporting partnership prospects.
