Swiss Performing Arts Projects

Organised as part of the partnership between the SAPA Foundation, Swiss Archive of the Performing Arts (Q50920401) and Wikimedia CH (Q15279140), the project aims to make information and documents on the Swiss performing arts available in Wikimedia projects.
Particular emphasis will be placed on reducing the gender bias in this information.
For the purposes of this project, the following areas are considered to be part of the Swiss performing arts:
- theatre
- dance
- opera (Q1344) (operetta (Q170384), et al.)
- cabaret
- puppetry
- circus
The project will be carried out in the three official Swiss languages (French, German and Italian).
The project is designed to be carried out over the long term, with regular:
- writing workshops in the Wikipedia encyclopaedia;
- uploading images to the Wikimedia Commons media library;
- data uploads to Wikidata
and so on.

Editathon
SAPA and Wikimedia CH will organise in 2024/beginning of 2025 three Wikipedia Editathons. One in each language region. The main goal is to create and/or improve the content on Wikipedia around the Swiss performing arts and artists, with a particular focus on women.
It is foreseen that participants will work on subject related to:
- people
- groups, associations, companies (theater, danse)
- places
- productions and plays
