I saw the articles produced through this event (on hi and mr wiki)and I am curious to know what was the process of this event.
I got to know about this event from categories created for this event to the hold new articles, so probably local communities were not informed at all?
Edit-a-thons using machine translation are really bad idea, though I am not sure if machine translation was part of deliberate planning or not?
There is no mention about how it took place, If I am gathering it right from news reports about the same. The very process was, students of journalism -> pre-edited articles --> machine translation --> community reviewers --> no one to hold accountable for mess left on multiple wikis.
I think now after the event we need to have one round of cleaning too. as the content of some articles is as bad as it should be deleted completely and rewritten again.
