Are allowed all languages or only English? Emijrp 13:29, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All languages! If you could provide us a translation of your letter, we'd appreciate it. As we can geotarget all of our pages, your banner could be a Spanish/Spain/Latin/South America focused one. -- Deniz (WMF) 19:42, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not going to waste my time in writing an appeal that compared with Jimmy's one is not going to get the same donations numbers, and obviously, it is not going to be used. Just like the text community banners. Happy campaign! Emijrp 18:31, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Don't be discouraged. Hopefully a variety of messages and appeals and banners and designs will not only pull in mega-bucks but also show off some of the community's talent and diversity. I doubt that a one-size fits all approach will be best here in the long run, or even the short to medium run. Ocaasi 20:21, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wales Fatigue[edit]

I love JW as much as the next pseudo-wikiholic, but that banner of his smiling mug can't be up by itself for two months straight. We're not considering ditching all of the other messages, are we? Ocaasi 20:19, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I second. The only reason I haven't hidden this year's banners yet is that I'm looking forward to seeing the community banners. Lexicografía 20:49, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing JW for so long with the ridiculously large banners for so long reeks of self-aggrandization, whether it is or isn't. 93.172.37.99 19:28, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We have translation requests out for the editor appeals now. As soon as we get them localized, we can roll them out on non-English projects. We've been testing editor banners on US projects for the past two weeks. I think they're fantastic, can't wait for your feedback. --Deniz (WMF) 22:35, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Translations[edit]

Will the editor appeals be translated into other languages? I can probably provide a Spanish version of mine if needed. Lexicografía 20:49, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As soon as we've tested the appeal, and settle on which version, or appeals, perform best we are putting out translation requests. But obviously if we use your appeal, we'd want you to translate it into your native language! -- Deniz (WMF) 22:33, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
