There are various options for fun/interesting and FREE activities in York that we could do together: Museums:

• Yorkshire Museum - Free entry by prior arrangement with PatHadley
• York Castle Museum - Free entry by prior arrangement with PatHadley
• Free walking tours 10:15 and 14:15 - Association of Voluntary Guides
• Professor Herring's Natural Hystery - 14:00 and 15:30 - a one-off event weaving York's real history in with lies that attendees have to identify! (Pat Hadley may be participating in this in costume! - TBC)

alas, I arrived at about 13.30 (when the drizzle was still active and the tables were pretty full), assuming that there might be others around, but there was no-one I knew there. I had a couple of glasses down in the (rather empty) basement but there wasn't anyone else around, so I pushed off back to the ranch at about 14.50. Oh well. GuillaumeTell
