Talk:Modest replies

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

This content is good, but it is not really "modest". Perhaps the page should be renamed "trenchant replies"?

Yes — in fact most of it is much more arrogant than the "Replies to Common Objections" (whhich I don't in fact find arrogant at all).

I think it's ironic along the lines of Swift's modest proposal. It's pretty cool, actually. --Yath 05:54, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Request[edit]

This needs a section covering the accusation that Wikipedia is communism. WP:RCO is so good because it has replies from multiple points of view.... I'm not feeling very witty right now or I'd do it. --Dylan Lake 23:20, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Original version[edit]

I read in Larry Sanger's memoir of the early history of WP that he wrote the original version of this page. He resigned from WP in early 2002, and says he didn't take much part after that. So the original date in the edit history of this page seems a bit late - was it transferred from somewhere else?--Shtove 23:38, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
