Talk:Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Ao

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Localization[edit]

Thank you to the Ao community; the Ao Wikipedia is only one step away from creation. Before the wiki can be created, we need to translate the main interface messages. This page will serve as a place for centralized discussion and coordination, while the actual translation will be on the BetaWiki (see BetaWiki instructions and a full list of Ao interface messages). If you have any problems, comments, suggestions, or questions, feel free to post below and we will be sure they are addressed.

While it would be even better to translate the entire interface, some of it isn't very important and can be translated later. If you see any messages you think don't need to be translated, feel free to mention them here.

The following messages don't need translation before final approval (although you are free to translate them anyway). The * symbol followed by a number means that several messages beginning with that are unneeded. For example, unlock* (6) means that six messages with names starting with "unlock" (unlockdb, unlockdbtext, unlockconfirm, unlockbtn, unlockdbsuccesssub, and unlockdbsuccesstext) are unneeded.

  • common* (2)
  • edittools
  • exif-* (273)
  • export* (7)
  • feed* (2)
  • import* (27)
  • lock* (8)
  • mainpagedocfooter
  • mainpagetext
  • metadata* (6)
  • monobook* (2)
  • pagetitle
  • unlock* (6)

I can't emphasize this enough: if you have any problems, comments, suggestions, or questions, feel free to post below and we will be sure they are addressed. There's no reason for anyone to be confused or uncertain if we can help it. :) Jon Harald Søby 21:50, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
