comparisons to English Wikipedia[edit]

To be honest, I don't mind the closure being mentioned on the page, but Sdkb, would you like to add the comparisons to the English Wikipedia on every other Wikipedia page? Every other project lags behind the English Wikipedia and the Simple English Wikipedia is the 50th largest Wikipedia. The English Wikipedia is not very related to the Simple English Wikipedia. We decide to do things differently, for example we don't have as many rules, which makes things simpler, and our category system is also simpler. simple:WP:FOLLOW is used pretty rarely and our aim isn't just to be a simpler version of enwiki, and many people believe that we are not enwiki and so what enwiki do has no relevance to what we do on simplewiki. --Ferien (talk) 09:41, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And no, believe it or not, I can't fix the problems that we face on a whole project, just like I imagine you couldn't single-handedly solve all the problems on enwiki. --Ferien (talk) 10:19, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't follow your argument that Korean Wikipedia should be considered as closely related to English Wikipedia as Simple English Wikipedia. Two of those are written in English; the third is not. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 20:17, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is how you are comparing enwiki to simplewiki, biggest vs 50th biggest, and then talking about closure, when a "lack of active editors" wasn't even mentioned in the closure discussion - in fact the opposite was mentioned, that this community was active and so shouldn't be closed - so it seems you are just adding your opinion into the page, an opinion that hasn't been voiced by anyone other than you before. --Ferien (talk) 23:25, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sdkb, ping. --Ferien (talk) 23:05, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted back about an hour ago as no adequate explanation has been given for adding an opinion only one person has voiced into the page, and that opinion was never raised in the closure discussion... --Ferien (talk) 20:15, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Activeness" refers to audience as much as it does to editors. The comparison was very much part of the closure nomination — see paragraph beginning How do you know almost nobody is using this project? Impact comparison: of the proposal. I'll try rephrasing to cite facts more directly. If you continue to disagree with the presence of the content, please seek a third opinion at a neutral venue (e.g. Meta:Babel) rather than edit warring away from the status quo. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 23:56, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
