Compensation of the new CEO[edit]

How high will be the yearly compensation for Maryana. I am interested in understanding better how the compensation is calculated. Can you please explain that. I for myself think that at in a Nonprofitorganisation there is a responibility of the executives that they take not so much money for their work. After my ideal vision there should be a limit that the compensation of the highest compensated person in the Wikimedia Foundation or other Non-Profitorganisations is not more than 20 percent higher than the lowest one of a person who works for the Organisation in the same region. The compensation should be based on the median income for the specific region but with a variable part so that is possible to get under it if the median income is very high or over it if a person works in a country with low median income. There are examples for organizations who pay all their staff the same and executives an additional value from maybe 20 percent at maximum. From my point of view this is something that I really like and it makes it more trustable for donators. I think it is not responsible if different people earn very different amount of money. I wish Maryana success in her work and will support it also if I have another point of view about how high a compensation should be.--Hogü-456 (talk) 18:58, 14 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Hogü-456, the information you are looking for is public, and is published with a delay in the so called IRS 990 forms. Please see the page with financial reports on the Foundation site. There you can find how much compensation the last CEO/ED received, and the FAQ answers how the compensation was determined by the board HR committee.
