Talk:Wikimedia meetings proposal

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Based on my schedule, that means the next meeting I will be able to participate to is Saturday 01 October 2005 15.00 17.00 11.0 0.0 (sun)

All previous ones are in the middle of the night or during my working hours. I would prefer to participate at least to one meeting before october :-) Anthere 06:17, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but this is dumb. Real dumb. There are only a small number of people who need to attend particular meetings. We should base meeting times around their schedules. Having a schedule like this is insane since it will exclude critical people from certain meetings. Such as having a finance meeting during the middle of my work day. This is insane. --Daniel Mayer 20:57, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is about involving the entire Wikimedia community in meetings, not about having meetings that specific people need to intend. This doesn't replace board meetings or finance meetings, but supplements them by allowing people who couldn't come to meetings that are always scheduled in Europe's evening to have their say on community issues.
