This page is important due to the Francophone Lebanese. The French previously colonized Lebanon and Syria (though the French language is not as common in Syria anymore), and the Ottoman Empire (which came before the French) used French as a language for communicating with Europeans and as a common language for Christian/Jewish minorities (as detailed in en:Languages of the Ottoman Empire) WhisperToMe (talk) 23:27, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
