01:00 UTC Wednesday 12 November. Is this meant to be 01:00 UTC Wednesday or Thursday? (For example, at UTC-5 (U.S. East Coast) would this be Tuesday night or Wednesday night?) Vassyana 18:12, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't make assumptions![edit]

The wording of the invitations we've made to candidates have been that WikiVoices is making an assumption that all candidates will attend our podcasts. I'm not a supporter of that approach: we're very much openly inviting candidates to stop by and offer an hour of their time. We are not, however, a mandatory activity, and indeed, some candidates may struggle (what with answering questions, standard enwiki activities, off-Wiki busyness, and so on) to actually offer an hour of their time to us.

I can exemplify my complaint if necessary, but I'd rather not in the interests of saving face; plus: what's done is done.

Please—we should simply bear that in mind in communicating with candidates, including on the episode page.

Can someone tall me if these are even occurring? Will there be one in about 45 minutes, or not? I made sure to be available at these times, and no one has contacted me at all, from what I can tell. Me too. I think it would have been possible to get everyone who wanted in one—it looks like there will be far less than 45 candidates.

I would like to apologise for the lack of commitment and professionalism I have shown in organising these podcasts. Although I wont go into details, I have not been having the best of a last week and this for me right now is just one more thing that has gone wrong. I will do my upmost to get this on track and i apologise if i have caused you hassle in real life in trying to be available for this.
