From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

I really like this box, but there's a problem with it. "If there is no opposition for the sysop to stay sysop, then they stay sysop. If opposition is voiced, then the sysop may lose sysopship if support falls below 75%." I put the text Please only vote if you oppose this user's continuing status as sysop under two of the users because there is no need for comments until someone opposes. But after someone opposes, then people do need to voice their support if they want the person to stay sysop. The multilingual box is only correct until someone votes against.

I don't actually expect anyone to vote against anyone (my note on Alvaro was just voicing policy, not any lack of confidence). So it may not be an important issue, but it is something to remember.

Tangentially related, is there a list somewhere on any given MediaWiki installation of all environmental variables (wikispeak: "Magic Words") that can be included via {{}}, such as {{SERVER}}, {{CURRENTDAY}}, etc? Is this list comprehensive for meta and en:wikipedia? --Ben Brockert < 23:54, 4 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Found it at Help:Variable by reading IRC channel quotes. —Ben Brockert < 23:59, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)
