Template talk:Policy-global

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

"The following page documents an official global policy. This page has been elaborated and approved by the community and its compliance is mandatory for all projects. It must not be modified without prior community approval." This wording seems problematic; it would seem to prohibit even correcting typos, adjusting the format, etc. without prior approval. Whatever happened to applying the BRD cycle to such matters? Also, is the community aware that when it enacts a policy, it is saying that the policy can't be changed without prior approval on the talk page? Leucosticte (talk) 00:07, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
