Template talk:Tlp

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Make this one work like ((tlf))[edit]

I am planning to make this {{tlp}} template work like the {{tlf}} template at en.Wikipedia and some other projects. (But with a linked template name of course.) The main new feature will be that it accepts several parameters, but I will also add the other improvements that {{tlf}} has. This will be fully backwards compatible.

However here at wikimedia.org this template uses bold text and spaces around the parameter(s). So we need to decide on if we should keep that slight visual difference or make this not just functionally compatible but also visually compatible with the other projects. (To me the visual difference does not matter much. But functional compatibility is important to make it easy to move documentation between projects.)

See full explanation and motivation of what I am planning to do over at the version at the English Wikipedia. And please discuss there, so we can keep the discussion in one place. (Well, the part about bold link and spaces should perhaps be discussed here.)
