In this issue we highlight new partners, library filters, and, as always, a roundup of news and community items related to libraries and digital knowledge.

Partner announcements[edit]

The Wikipedia Library is announcing free, full-access, access to two new partners:

  • De Standaard: a Flemish daily newspaper published in Belgium by Mediahuis
  • Duncker & Humblot: ebooks and journals in the fields of law, economics, society, politics, history, philosophy and literature

See all available partners on your My Collections page.

Tech tip: Filters on the Library Card Platform[edit]

The Wikipedia Library has many different partners available on your My Collections and Available Collections tabs. The filters on the left-hand side of the interface help you to narrow down your selection. Using these filters you can limit your display to only those partners with substantive collections in a particular language; multidisciplinary collections or those with a particular subject focus; those searchable (or not!) via the library search bar at the top of the screen; or those with a particular access method. You can also use the search bar at the bottom of the filter menu to search directly within the descriptions of each partner, to help isolate items with keywords not otherwise represented by these filters – for example, limiting your search to newspaper collections.

Wikimania presentation[edit]

The Wikipedia Library presentation at Wikimania 2023 gave an overview of how to access the library, discussed the partnership process, and gave tips for affiliates on how to get involved with forming new partnerships on a local level. A recording is now available on YouTube and will soon be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.
