Allison Davenport
Technology Law and Policy Fellow, Wikimedia Foundation

About me

I first joined the Wikimedia Foundation in 2017 as a Spring Legal Fellow, where I worked on a number of legal and policy issues, including copyright, privacy, and intermediary liability.

Since finishing my legal fellowship, I spent time as a Research Assistant at Authors Alliance, a Berkeley-based non-profit, doing policy work related to fair use and rights reversion. Following that, I worked as a Researcher at UC Berkeley's Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity, conducting research on privacy and cybersecurity governance. I also have worked at the U.S. Copyright Office in their Policy and International Affairs department.

Prior to joining the Wikimedia Foundation, I studied law at Pepperdine University School of Law. I became a licensed California attorney in December 2016.

My work

As the Technology Law and Policy Fellow, I work on domestic and global policy issues related to copyright, intermediary liability, and freedom of expression.
