About me
Hello! My name is Aishwarya (she/her), and I live in the misty city of San Francisco although I'm born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon. I'm a product designer, writer, artist, and proud South Asian. I'm interested in systems thinking, feminism, and decoloniality. You can read some of my writing on Substack, Medium or The Wild Word. I have immense respect for the volunteers who edit Wikipedia and am always excited to meet and learn from them. If you'd ever like to chat, please reach out to me at avardhana@wikimedia.org.

My work
I joined WMF in February 2021, and my first project was redesigning The Wikipedia Library homepage. (Free access to paywalled research for Wikipedias who qualify! Go check it out.) After that I led design for Abstract Wikipedia (AW) and designed the core user experience for Wikifunctions (2021-2022). After an exciting and busy year on AW, I joined Trust and Safety Tools as their design lead in July 2022. Our team is currently building the Incident Reporting System in collaboration with the Trust and Safety department. In September 2023 I switched teams and now work on Moderator Tools.
