AXM also known Ahmed X. Medien is an information strategist who works actively on activating multi-stakeholder conversation around internet governance and (social) platform trust and safety interventions. Now, I am finding a new vocation and passion in human-AI interactions and testing (red-teaming) GenAI text and multimedia output in the areas of polical speech and news articles for quality and bias or "fairness." My work centers around testing and incorporating "safe" political speech, credibility signals into new synthetic text.

I am a systems engineer turned community organizer. Throughout my decade of experience in internet service ventures and non-profits, project management, I worked as a chair for global conferences, managing research and knowledge production projects, and in communication. My major fortes are mentoring and coalition-building.

I am very passionate about open knowledge movements. I was a manager and major champion of the grants research programme known as WikiCredibility Research Grants program or WikiCred launched in 2020 during WikiConference North America 2019 in Boston. WikiCred funded over 20 research and prototype projects since 2020. Some of these projects featured in the WikiConference North America in 2020, 2021 and 2023. and other global internet conferences such as MozFest 2021.
