Baidax is a contributor to Wikimedia Foundation projects, primarily on French Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. Committed to contributing to the collection of human knowledge, he hopes to make a useful contribution to the encyclopedic endeavor. Additionally, he does not hesitate to share this aspiration with those around him, encouraging them to help in this ambitious task.
I mainly contribute to the French Wikipedia, but I occasionally make edits on other projects as well. Sometimes, I add new entries to the French Wiktionary or even a few transcriptions and translations on Wikisource. I was also actively involved in the thesaurus creation challenge in November 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Visions for the techninal development of the projects
To improve the contribution framework and make the system more efficient across projects, he supports the development of the following features:
automatic categorization based on structured data, together with a broader use of Wikidata, as is already being introduced very gradually on Wikimedia Commons;
the creation of a centralized space for templates shared across projects and language versions;
centralized reference management, which would improve accuracy, formatting consistency, and ease of translation (see the WikiCite project on this topic);
a new approach to managing references within articles, whereby citations would be attached to specific groups of words rather than placed at the end of each proposition, in order to structure information more clearly and identify its exact source;
links to the various projects, including Wikidata, grouped together in a fixed drop-down menu at the top of the page, similar to the language menu and positioned next to it, which may already be emerging through the new interfaces;
related articles managed collectively and technically through the related-pages function.
