DO NOT ADD ANYTHING TO THIS LIST, AS IT WILL LIKELY NOT GET DONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

Most stuff is on hold while the servers are down. All remaining UseMod-based wikis will be upgraded after the servers are back online. The servers are not back online yet, we're using a slow temporary database server and the web servers aren't in ideal configuration.

Short list:

  • set up new wikis for Thai, Bengali, some others
  • Get wiktionary.org multilingual-ready (fix up links to Wikipedia; move current to en.wiktionary.org)
  • Look at the UTF-8 editing issue
  • Fix mav's login to work on foundation pages
  • many other things from below

  • Ko wikipedia have several bugs with IE in using (Special Function Pages). ko:???:??? seems to have figured out what the problem is. ( form tag in the source has different korean encoding : but this description of mine might be inaccurate ) --ko:???:Xaos

  • The Special:Intl page on the Romanian Wikipedia is broken; it should either be updated as to state that the page is unavailable, or it should properly list the interlanguage links.   • Hi, Brion. the Portugues wiki, has the same problem of sysops, previous ones unregistered, as in the Catalonian wiki, and I don't know who they were. Can you fix it?. It seems all the new wikipedias converted to MediaWiki have the same problem. Saludos JorgeGG 12:51, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC).
    • Unfortunately I can't just "fix" it because the way user accounts and admin priviledges work on the two wiki systems is totally different. If you can provide a list of accounts which should be marked as admins, I can do that. --Brion VIBBER 18:53, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Bug reports

Norwegian

On the Norwegian Wikipedia "Wikipedia talk" and "MediaWiki talk" were translated with "Wikipedia-diskusjon" and "MediaWiki-diskusjon". However these pages do not behave like talk pages, but like articles. They have white, not yellow background and they do not link back to the meta page. For an example, see no:Wikipedia-diskusjon:Navnekonvensjoner.

If there is a problem with using a hyphen, you could always remove the hyphen and replace "Wikipedia-diskusjon" with "Wikipediadiskusjon" and replace "MediaWiki-diskusjon" with "MediaWikidiskusjon".

I signed a post in the usual 4 tildes manner at http://sources.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikisource_talk%3AReligious_texts but did not get the usual results. Instead it generated a line break after "User" and treated the colon as an instruction to indent. Eclecticology 20:41, 27 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Deletion

We Japanese wikipedians want certain past versions of articles to be deleted, and decided to ask your help on that. Please take a look at your user page at Japanese wikipedia. Tomos 08:56, 4 Nov 2003 (UTC)

Or, for some reasons, if you think deleting specific versions is not a good idea or it is too much hastle for you to do (though I got an impression from mailinglist posting that it is easy), please let us know so that we can delete the entire articles and start rewriting. We are adding more items (page versions) to be deleted under the assumption that you will do it sooner or later. Also, sooner is of course better since in some cases copyright holders were contacted (largely to make sure they did not post those texts by themselves), and we received requests for deletion from them.
