Initially, I was seduced by the idea of collaborating on this encyclopedia, leaving a part of my city's history for future generations (perhaps one day paper will no longer exist). Unfortunately, almost all new articles are deleted, and I began to investigate why this happened so frequently. At first, I thought they were poorly written, but I looked for similar articles to use as a guide and began experimenting with templates. Eventually, they reverted the template and blocked me for vandalism.
I'm still looking for an answer as to why so many articles were deleted. And I found this: "All procedures were forgotten; it's simply the law of the strongest." User: Hprmedina
Finally, I thought that for a foreign librarian, not even my entire country should be relevant. That's Wikipedia, where everyone, if they're lucky, can contribute. And if you're stubborn and lack of motivation doesn't get the better of you, you can keep trying.
Over time, I learned to collaborate on the many tasks that exist within Wikipedia. One task I learned a lot from was Patrolling. The more you immerse yourself in this encyclopedia, the more you gain trust within the community of users and editors.
So I began making small edits to correct spelling and punctuation, and I was inspired to rewrite a full article about my city and topics I'm familiar with. That's how a Wikimedian from my city contacted me to invite me to a WikiCafé. Once within the group, I became familiar with a range of terminology.
Then, while searching for information about bacteria, I discovered that certain topics already exist on Wikipedia in other languages, and I began translating articles. That's how I managed to obtain the auto-verified flag.
Between creating an article and the next one I decided to write, I patrolled new pages and reviewed recent changes, reported bad users to the user board, and helped the occasional user in need. And after two and a half years, I obtained the reverter flag, and after a month of testing, I was awarded the verifier flag. On October 16, 2020, after two previous attempts, I managed to obtain my first Good Article on the Spanish Wikipedia. I currently have a third approved AB.Hello, my real name is Pablo, but on Wikipedia I'm Ceibos. I'm a physiotherapist and also have a master's degree in hospital management.
I'm a coin collector, and in my country, along with some great numismatists, we founded the Numismatic Association of Ecuador. I also belong to the Ecuadorian Society of Physiotherapy, and of course, I'm a member of Wikimedian Ecuador.
