Dappa Solomon Ezekiel is a seasoned award-winning Documentary photographer from the Ancient Opobo Kingdom who joined Wikimedia in March 2023 and ever since he has contributed to WikiCommons over 1,500 top-quality images and counting.

He is the founder and community lead of Wiki Niger Delta Heritage Collective. A community of professional photographers, videographers, and oral storytellers from across the Niger Delta States in Nigeria dedicated to documenting and preserving the cultural heritage, social life, and environmental realities of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

Our work covers a wide scope, from vibrant masquerades, festivals, and crafts to everyday life, community voices, and the urgent challenges of oil pollution and climate change.

He won the WikiLoves Folklore first place In Nigeria and the WikiLoves Africa first place winnerwith the Theme Africa Creates of the Wikimedia Nigerian UsherGroup and the WikiLoves Africa Create of the WikiNiger Delta Network all in 2024.

He is a graduate of Computer Science from the Rivers State University Of Science and Technology, Now Rivers State University. He is a passionate photographer and a digital lifestyle designer.

His love and passion for culture and traditions led him to documentary and he started from his immediate community Opobo Kingdom ever since he has been an active contributor to Wikimedia open-source knowledge.

He has led the team of Wikimedia Nigeria UsherGroup to Opobo Kingdom on AudioVisual Oral Documentation and has joined and attended many Wikimedia events and photo walks.

At the Just Concluded WikiConference Nigerian 2024, Dappa Solomon had a presentation on the Topic: Telling Nigerian Stories On Wiki Through Images: Why you should Contribute.

He was also part of the Conference Communication Committee and a social media ad-hoc committee member, contributing to disseminating information on all social handles about the conference. Dappa was a 1st round jury at the Wiki Loves Africa 2025.

He was part of the just concluded GLAM Wiki programs committee in Lisbon, Portugal.

Dappa also won the first place position of Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 in the Igbo Community. As one who's ready and passionate about telling stories through open source knowledge, he was supported to co-organise the Wiki Loves Africa 2025 In the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria, after a successful event, he was featured on the Wiki Hour Episode 46 where he shared his experiences, Challenges and triumph.
