The First International Congress Wikimedia, Education and Digital Cultures (WECUDI), organized by Wikimedia Argentina and the National University of La Plata will be held from September 14 to 16, 2023, in the city of La Plata, Argentina.

The Congress aims to deepen the reflection on pedagogical uses of digital technologies, Wikimedia projects and their links with the processes of democratization and access to information from a perspective of rights and decolonization. It also seeks to put in dialogue the research and reflections on the use of Wilkipedia and other Wikimedia projects with works that address other tools or experiences with digital technologies in educational settings, regarding teachers, researchers, students, specialists in issues related to education and technologies, digital literacy, disinformation and human rights. The Congress seeks to generate a reference environment to build bridges between the different experiences that are being implemented in educational environments, inside and outside the Wikimedia movement, and from where to enable and enhance the necessary dialogues and debates on access and construction of free knowledge on the Internet, from a pedagogical perspective.
