Brief description :CIS-A2K is planning to collaborate with Kannada University, Hampi to re-license and digitize books published by Prasaranga.

History: CIS-A2K going to submit proposal in the 2018-19 work plan year. Previously CIS-A2K worked with Dravida Samskruthi Adhyayana Vibhaga to digitize and re-license.

What part of this program will remain the same and why?

What part of this program will change and why? After digitizing Dravida Nighantu CIS-A2K planned to work with University in bigger scale. CIS-A2K will re-license the encyclopedia's and books published by Prasaranga. Also, CIS-A2K willing to help in the digitization process of copyright free books in the University library. CIS-A2K is also want to start GLAM activities in University by collaborating with different departments.

Wikipedia gadgets and tools training

When?: Wikipedia gadgets and tools training , Where?: Bengaluru , Number of participants: 20 (repeat participation)

Brief description:CIS-A2K would like to conduct two gadgets and tools training to Kannada community.

History:Previously CIS-A2K conducted tools and training workshops.

What part of this program will remain the same and why?

What part of this program will change and why?Workshops conducted before was not very successful. This time CIS-A2K would like to train community selected participants and only invitees. Conducting pre-sessions over video call before the event will help participants to understand basics of tools and practice for the event.

Wikidata training workshops

Brief description:CIS-A2K planning to conduct Wikidata workshops for experienced Wikipedia editors.

History:Previously there was no dedicated Wikidata workshop conducted for Kannada community in Karnataka after Asaf's Wikidata technical training in 2017.

What part of this program will remain the same and why?

What part of this program will change and why?In Kannada community interest towards Wikidata gradually increasing. From these workshops Kannada Wikipedia editors will get more knowledge about editing Wikidata. After conducting workshops a local label-a-thon program can be conducted. This label-a-thon will bring more labels in Kannada. That can motivate more Wikimedians to edit and translate Wikidata labels.
