About me

I have been an English Wikipedia editor since 2004. My volunteer account is User:Harej. As a member of the community I co-founded the Wikimedia District of Columbia chapter and led numerous programs, organized Wikimania 2012 in Washington, DC, and was awarded grants by the Wikimedia Foundation to work on WikiProject X and Librarybase. My volunteer work has focused mainly on improving community workflows on English Wikipedia, including Requests for Comments, as well as work on the Wikidata project where I am highly active. My experience volunteering for Wikimedia in both online and offline settings inform my interest in making sure people who support our mission can find each other, collaborate, and learn.

I currently live in San Francisco, but I grew up in New Jersey and lived in Washington, DC, for six years. I have a degree in political science from American University. I am fond of old-school console gaming and adorable animals.

My work

I am currently working on the Wikimedia Resource Center. In general, I am interested in working on tools, interfaces, and processes that support our communities.

You can see my current projects in my sandbox.

Disclaimer: I work for or provide services to the Wikimedia Foundation, and this is the account I try to use for edits or statements I make in that role.
