Personal/Bio:
[edit]☞ I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Columbia University and currently serve as a faculty member at New York University.
☞ My academic background intersects with my passion for global exploration. By age 26, I had visited 24 countries across Asia, Europe, North America, and Central America.
Notable experiences include:
[edit]- Camping in the Petén jungle in Guatemala
- Bungee jumping in New Zealand
- Overland travel through Eastern Europe by rail
- Performing music on the Great Wall of China
- Completing a cross-country road trip across the United States
I have participated in cruise-based travel, solo backpacking, guided group tours, and informal lodging experiences ranging from hostels to short-term rentals and couchsurfing. In addition to travel content, I have contributed digital content and local focused writing for Toronto based small business websites such as Ultimate Mold Crew, Northern Touch Window Cleaning Vancouver, Anta Plumbing Toronto and fullhome to name a few.
Achievements
☞ Blogmanay Campaign (2012)
[edit]In December 2012, I was selected as one of 21 international travel bloggers to participate in the Blogmanay campaign, organized by VisitScotland, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, the Edinburgh Tourism Action Group (ETAG), and Edinburgh Festivals. The program involved experiencing Scotland’s traditional New Year’s Eve celebrations, including the Torchlight Procession and the Loony Dook, an annual costumed dip into the River Forth.
☞ Generation Y Press Trip – Alaska (2012)
[edit]In August 2012, I participated in a Generation Y-focused media trip to Anchorage, Alaska, organized by the Hilton Garden Inn Anchorage. The itinerary included outdoor and adventure tourism activities such as glacier hiking in Sutton, Alaska, and wildlife encounters across Southcentral Alaska.
☞ Partnerships
[edit]As of recent years, I have maintained a content creation partnership with Volt Studios Toronto, producing travel content focused on Canada and Central America. These collaborations have resulted in digital features, social media content, and editorial pieces centred on destination marketing and storytelling for small businesses and niche industries ranging from plumbing, window cleaning, housecleaning to travel, DIY, airbnb and mold cleaning.
