The health of a plant does not depend on the treatment it receives individually. It depends on how the plant interacts with all other living organisms in the environment.

About me
My username Mautinho is a product of chance. It expresses a certain affinity with Brazil. Because the Portuguese word matuto is derived from the Portuguese mato tree, bush; a matuto is someone who lives in the bush or in the countryside, (pejoratively also) backwoodsman, bumpkin, country bumpkin. The suffix -inho is the Portuguese diminutive meaning small. The verb matutar also means to ponder, to reflect and the adjective matutino means morning and morning edition (of a newspaper)
I find the visible multilingualism in Wikipedia and its sister projects important in order to counteract a certain Anglophonization tendency. English speakers should not be excluded, but all those who do not understand English should be included as far as possible.

My work
Species extinction: Climate change has been on everyone's lips for years. Little noticed and generally underestimated is the current mass extinction, which according to a 2009 study by the Stockholm Resilience Centre is currently the biggest ecological problem. It therefore seems to me that species protection and everything that goes with it are crucial for the survival of our biosphere. In this context, I created or completed many items in Wikidata on protected biotopes of national importance in Switzerland. See, for example, the SPARQL queries (select Map instead of Table on the left): ■ the dry grasslands/pastures, ■ the amphibian spawning areas, ■ the alluvial zones, ■ the raised and transitional mires, ■ fenlands.
Interculturality. On Commons, I endeavour to make the meta pages of the files multilingual, e.g. by writing the descriptions in different languages (often only visible in the source text with LangSwitch). See, for example, the meta pages of the following images: ■ Staircase of Hotel Elite, ■ Prophet Jeremiah by Aleijadinho, ■ Martyrs' window, ■ Epiphany window, both by Józef Mehoffer in the Fribourg Cathedral.
I deal with the topic of decolonisation and document the lasting traces of colonisation even in science, see for example the image of herbarium in the left column. This herbarium sheet not only documents the plant, but also the claim to dominance of Western science at the time. Many European botanists allowed themselves to be guided by local inhabitants to interesting plants and named the „new plants“ after the European „discoverer“.
I also document culture, for example the Good Friday tradition of the ■ Pleureuses de Romont (with subtitles in English), ■ the Corpus Christi procession in Fribourg or in the field of technology history ■ A ribbon weaving machine in Switzerland (with English subtitles).
At the moment, I am also actively involved in the «Stolperstein goes Wikidata project»: ■ Stolperstein dedicated to Sara Rothschild ■ family Rothschild ■ map of Stolpersteine in Switzerland
