Whom Am I?🥰[edit]

Passionate about leveraging technology for positive societal impact, I am Shriya Kamat Tarcar, a Computer Science Engineer from Goa,India. Notably,I got selected as one of the 15 fellows globally for the Data Science for Social Good Fellowship at the University of Warwick,UK where I collaborated with West Midlands Combined Authority and Pure Leapfrog to predict energy efficiencies, contributing to regional carbon neutrality goals in the West Midlands. I also worked as a Developer Intern at companies like Timble Law Associates and SAWO labs.

I love participating in hackathons,coding competitions and community program initiatives(I have been a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador[Beta])Beyond the realms of technology, my enthusiasm extends to diverse interests, like acting on national television,being a radio jockey on All India Radio and 92.7 BIG FM,taking part in debate,fancy-dress,dance,drawing and sanskrit shloka competitions.I'm on a journey to make an impact both in and outside the tech sphere.

What motivated me to apply for Outreachy?👩‍💻[edit]

Drawn by the allure of Open Source, my motivation for applying to Outreachy stems from a deep-seated passion for open-source and open-science collaborative efforts worldwide. The prospect of engaging with diverse individuals towards a shared goal has been a driving force, leading me to initiate contributions.Outreachy emerged as the ideal platform, offering a unique opportunity for growth and learning in the next challenging yet rewarding three months. Outreachy's commitment to promoting diversity in technology resonated profoundly with respect, making it an appealing avenue for personal and professional development. The selection of a project within the Wikimedia community, of which I am an enthusiastic supporter, only adds to the excitement and significance of this forthcoming experience.
