"Documenting knowledge in our languages is preserving culture for generations to come.”

About me

I live in Kampala, Uganda, and I am a proud African Wikipedian. A strategic leader, teacher, journalist, and program manager in the Wikimedia movement in Uganda. My work focuses on empowering African communities through documentation, storytelling, and recognition. I speak fluent Luganda, fluent English, beginner French, and beginner Swahili.

Vision

I believe in building a Wikimedia movement that celebrates local languages, cultural pride, and authentic narratives. My goal is to inspire more contributors to document knowledge in their mother tongues and strengthen the presence of African communities globally.

My work

Here is a partial list of what I am currently involved in:

  • Served as Project Lead of Luganda Wikipedia, guiding community growth and language-focused initiatives.
  • Contributed to the incubation of Runyankole Wikipedia, translating articles, training editors, and improving quality through references, wikilinking, and infoboxes.

Trained contributors in the Runyankole-Rukiga Wikipedia Incubation, strengthening local language presence on Wikimedia projects.

  • Support multi-university Wikimedia projects and empower Uganda Wikimedia team leads through collaborative communication.

Interests

  • Promoting African languages and cultures on Wikimedia projects.
  • Designing impactful outreach and social media graphic materials for community engagement.
  • Ensuring inclusive and transparent resource allocation for events.
