Re: your user page[edit]

You wrote on your user page "There is Error: ⧼abusefilter-warning-foreign⧽ when I edit my userpage. Can someone help me explain why?" This is because each MediaWiki-based wiki has the ability to create abuse filters that will stop or otherwise flag certain kinds of edits. One common example of a kind of edit that gets flagged is one that includes obscure or unlikely characters in edits. For instance, if I had a Thai-language wiki, I may set up an abuse filter that flags edits with a lot of Arabic or Latin characters, as the Thai language is not written in those scripts, so edits with a lot of those characters probably represent spam or some very mistaken editors who are inputting inappropriate content. In this case, you have chosen a pretty obscure character as a username and this wiki flags edits with that character, as the editors of the local abuse filter think that this character is unlikely to belong in appropriate edits here at Meta-Wiki. If you keep on experiencing this problem, you may want to ask the edit filter editors to remove this rule. —Justin (koavf)TCM 21:53, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note that when I posted this comment, including <ᘙ> did not give me this warning message. —Justin (koavf)TCM 21:54, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, you are really helpful :) I just tried again editing my userpage on wikiquote and now it works, whereas it did not work previously when I wrote the message and I only got the error. It could be that it only starts to work after certain limits are met (number of edits? or time limit?) or maybe something else changed. Also the problem was on wikiquote userpage, not on meta userpage. -- (talk) 02:27, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
