Phabricator/Phorge "meow" tag
[edit]Hello A smart kitten, I've noticed that on A smart kitten (phab) you have a little meow tag instead of user, I haven't deeply looked onto how Phorge handles such stuff, so I was wondering how you made it if you made it, or how I could make one if I ran my own Phorge instance, and if it's possible to somehow request the tag on WMF's phabricator. -- NotKlea (talk) 23:19, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @NotKlea! I edited that by going to my Phab profile, clicking "Manage User" in the left-hand sidebar, then clicking "Edit Profile" in the right-hand sidebar, and modifying the value of the "Title" field that's then displayed. I believe those steps should also work for other users on Wikimedia Phabricator. (Let me know if I've explained anything here poorly or if you have any more queries about it

Help on using Gerrit to create patches for Wikimedia site requests
[edit]Hi. I've recently configured Git (with a new SSH key) on my Windows laptop to use Gerrit, which will allow me to create Gerrit patches. However, I need a step by step guide on how to create such patches to handle Wikimedia site requests, and an example would be phab:T419312. Thanks. - Hey @Codename Noreste, do you mean a step-by-step guide on how to create/upload patches to Gerrit in general, or how to write patches for Wikimedia site requests specifically? If the former, mw:Gerrit/Tutorial (& its linked pages) was helpful to me when I was starting out with Gerrit. If the latter, wikitech:Wikimedia site requests might hopefully be useful (but I don't think I've often used that piece of documentation myself, so I'm not sure on how helpful it may/may not be in practice). - Apologies that I haven't been able to give this much attention in the last few days. I see you've created gerrit:1251200 for T419312 since the last message here, and that @A826 has left a few comments on it.
- If you have any queries regarding creating patches for site-requests and aren't sure who/where to ask, #wikimedia-techconnect and/or

- I've since had to fix gerrit:1251200 because there was a space before two tabs but somehow I ended up making gerrit:1251318 in which I can't merge the both into one. :( Codename Noreste (talk • contribs) 13:40, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Which patch would you like to continue with? If possible, it might help to keep gerrit:1251200 (as that's where the discussion's currently been), but it's not a big problem IMO if you'd like to continue with 1251318 instead. What I've seen someone else do in this sort of scenario is send a message on IRC to ask if someone can abandon the other patch (because, as the patch is technically owned by 'Gerrit Patch Uploader', I guess you probably won't be able to abandon it yourself).
