Question

[edit]

Is it ok if I ask about what is going on with my appeal and what the admins are talking about through email? Masai giraffe (talk) 21:59, 27 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Please stick to UTRS, sorry. -- asilvering (talk) 22:20, 27 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Would you happen to know why the appeal was declined? Masai giraffe (talk) 19:06, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I got an email but it doesn’t say the key and reason. Masai giraffe (talk) 19:23, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
You've been banned from UTRS for a year. I'm sorry, but we've all tried to explain the reason to you many times. -- asilvering (talk) 22:30, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
It just took so long, I wasn’t sure if that was the reason. When a year passes, I will provide an in depth reason of my understanding of my behavior. May I ask another question, is it against the rules to remove info that is backed by another source that is different. Just wondering if that had something to do with my block if that’s a rule, later on I will abide by that. Masai giraffe (talk) 22:46, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Masai giraffe, please stop emailing me about this block. -- asilvering (talk) 01:36, 15 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I just wanted to know what the rules are so I can do better in future. Masai giraffe (talk) 00:09, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

You’ve got mail.

Help me

[edit]

Asilvering, it would be nice if you could unblock me from Wikipedia not Wikimedia because I would like to start on a clean slate without vandalising I now hate people who vandalise and I am sorry for creating multiple acounts the only reason I created this acount was because a steward xxBlackburnxx was the name I think, globaly locked that acount the Pandachini bananini one so I couldn't log in it anymore so please consider it I am sorry. I will never do anything like that again I promise. Kind regards, @Square Guard

This user despises vandalism and reverts it with extreme pride.

also check my user page for proof that I hate vandalism Square Guard (talk) 10:05, 17 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Square Guard, you have to appeal the block on your original account. You can't keep creating new sockpuppets. Every time you do that, we're going to reset the six-month timer on en:WP:SO. Please wait until mid-March before making another appeal. -- asilvering (talk) 14:42, 17 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
how? and which acount Square Guard (talk) 01:43, 26 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
You need to appeal the block on your earliest created account. You can appeal using en:UTRS, but not until mid-March. -- asilvering (talk) 02:09, 26 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Updates from Capacity Exchange (CapX)!

[edit]

Hello Asilvering,

My name is Joris Darlington Quarshie, and I am an Outreach Facilitator for the Capacity Exchange (CapX) — a platform for finding and connecting with peers to exchange knowledge and skills on a global level.

CapX is a community-built tool, designed by and for the Wikimedia Movement, to make it easier for Wikimedians across the world to find and connect, collaborate, and exchange skills and knowledge with peers.

If you don't know it yet, I invite you to access capx.toolforge.org and create your user profile with your Wikimedia account. But, if you already have a profile, I invite you to check out the new features and possibilities we just launched. I am sure you will be delighted.

CapX's new version incorporates valuable community feedback gathered over the past months, including the Organization Profile - a feature for Wikimedia affiliates, initiatives, or community groups to create their own CapX presence (see here how to create yours).

Join us for “Many Tongues, One Movement: Voices Across Languages”!

[edit]

Hello Asilvering,

We’re excited to invite you to an inspiring global virtual gathering: the first Capacity Exchange Translat-a-thon.

Together with Language Diversity Hub, the Capacity Exchange (CapX) team will host its first Translation Marathon dedicated to ensuring linguistic equity in access to this amazing tool aimed to connect Wikimedians.
If you enjoy contributing to Wikimedia projects through translating and adapting content into different languages, this event is for you! Join us in the celebration of the multilingual spirit of the Wikimedia Movement at an event where communities that contribute in diverse languages will be able to share local knowledge and collaborate across borders.
Many Tongues, One Movement: Voices Across Languages

  • Date: December 6, 2025
  • Time: 12 PM (UTC) - Check the event page for your local timezone
  • Location: Online (Meta-Wiki + live session links)

If you can’t join the live event, you can still contribute to the translations! Edits will be counted for two weeks, until December 20th. And everyone who participates will receive a special badge to display on their CapX profiles.

Strengthen your collaboration through CapX
