Hello, @Conbene, nice talking to you, and congratulations GLAM User Group into another year !
Do you have any idea how we will have newsletter landing page able to translate?
If hands may be short to put each issue of our news into multiple languages, my wild dream whispers at least the landing page might intrigue the GLAM spirit inside peers in several languages come and join!

Emails for global GLAM calls

Hello, may I request that you not send separate emails to so many email lists? Today I see 9 separate emails from you that appear to be all announcing the same meeting. Instead, you could send 1 email to multiple lists. ↠Pine (✉) 17:14, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

Unfortunately my understanding is that you will receive an email from each list you’re subscribed to. Additionally the spam filter is not managed by the administrators, rather it’s a hard filter that is picking up multiple mailing lists as recipients.

All Wikimedia mailing lists however do have subscription settings where you can decide how frequently you receive emails, and if they come summarized or not. Conbene (talk) 06:29, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

Hi, the only emails recently where I recall this issue of so many duplicates is with the GLAM emails. I intentionally do not do digests, and even if I did I don't think it would help in this case because the emails are sent to separate lists. What I'm accustomed to seeing for multi-list announcements is a single email sent to multiple lists. For the GLAM emails, can they also be sent as single emails to multiple lists, and if a junk filter blocks them then ask the admins of the applicable list to allow the email through the junk filter? I get the impression that you expect this not to work, but I'd like to know if and when it was tried for the GLAM emails. Thanks, ↠Pine (✉) 02:26, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

I first tried sending emails to multiple mailing lists in 2025 while organizing the GLAM Conference and the emails were always rejected outright as spam (see spam filters on the documentation page for the mailing list). Sending individual emails to each list is the only way to ensure the message is delivered. Conbene (talk) 09:53, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

Hi, separate from the email list issue, I believe that you presented a workshop at Wikimania regarding a toolkit for GLAMs. I liked the presentation, and I'm wondering if you'd like to write an article on the same topic for The Signpost.
