Tables[edit]

I was reading your post on parserfunctions and how to correct a problem with tables rendering incorrectly. You figured out to enable, $wgUseTidy = true. This worked beautifully for me, except my main page is now displaying strangely. The logo and the left navigation colomn have been pushed onto the body of the wiki. Did you have a problem like this? I appreciate any assistance you might be able to offer on this. Thanks Rovo79 04:39, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, sorry I did not see any effect of that. I am using the cologneblue skin, which doesn't have a logo like the standard one. It is noted on the ParserFunction that this solution is a last resort. From that and what I have read elsewhere, is that using the Tidy function can mess with things. Most likely it is due to the manner in which it is changing the HTML code. Either you have some questionable code with some errors in it, or it is causing the errors. Sorry, don't have any other suggestions other than that. --Dr DBW 05:04, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate the reply in either case, I will keep working on it. Thank you very much Rovo79 15:35, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I spoke way too soon, seem that UseTidy does and has caused some problems for me. See Talk:ParserFunctions#Solution to Tables Problems. Appears that the UseTidy has messed up the generation of some of the opening and closing of the HTML code.--Dr DBW 21:07, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And I am still butting my head up against the wall on this issue. Only messes with RandomImage and Gallery code.--Dr DBW 23:24, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
