Get started with the Lua interface to simplify the preparation of modules for translation in MetaWiki
[edit]Greetings!
The Language and Product Localization team has developed a Lua interface to simplify the preparation of Lua modules for translation in the MetaWiki platform. This means that module developers can now use the new Lua interface to load translatable strings, and the translators can translate them in the same translation interface that is used for templates and wiki pages.
This improvement makes it easier for translators to find and edit module strings without dealing with raw Lua code. It helps prevent mistakes that could break the module during translation.
We invite you to watch our demo video and read more about translatable modules to understand how it works. Please give us your feedback on this talk page on how well the Lua interface addresses the challenges in your workflow and how useful it is in module localization tasks. You can also refer to Module:User Wikimedia project, which was recently converted to utilize these messages, for example usage.
Your feedback is important as it will help us evaluate and decide how to continue developing and improving this interface, extend it to other wikis, or change our approach.
Thank you, and we anticipate your honest feedback.

Happy 5th WikiBirthday!!
[edit]
Happy (extremely late) 5th WikiBirthday! Thank you for all of your contributions on the Italian, English and Simple English Wikipedias! Do you know that you have created over 200 articles in namespace (including disambiguation pages and redirects) over your five most-edited wikis? That's amazing!! Hopefully you have a good week and lots of luck this year! ✩ ⯎ Asteralee ⯎ 02:10, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

Want to prettify your Wikipedia even more?
[edit]Hi! Hope you're having a great day (✿◕‿◕✿) After realizing I had some free time on my hands, I decided to add a new piece to my CSS page for slightly cuter headings!
- ✩ Instructions! ✩
- Obviously, open Wikipedia, preferably not on mobile.
- In a new tab, open this version of my CSS page.
- Assuming you're using Vector 2010 (because I actually don't know if it works with other skins), copy the code under the comment Section symbols. Of course, don't take the code under Vector Legacy (2010) ONLY, because you already have it.
- Change the diamonds to anything you want, any color you want, or if you want to, add more symbols the lower the headings get! Just so you know, the side panel uses the symbols as well.
- Make sure not to accidentally remove any spaces when changing the symbols or the spacing between the word and the symbol will be uneven.
- Remove things you don't care about.
- Save your changes and enjoy much more visually appealing headers!
Of course, the code looks to be really ugly, but the results are really pretty! Enjoy (✿◠‿◠) ⯎ Asteralee ⯎ 09:55, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Asteralee: Oh my my, so cute (★ ω ★) Thank you so much, it's amazing!!! 〒▽〒 ~ Dream Indigo ✩ 22:52, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, is there any way you can make your serif font bigger? The text is very small, so some people may have to strain their eyes to read it. Best regards, ~2026-27854-37 (talk) 00:30, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for letting me know! :) I thought the font size depended on the browser's settings. I've increased the size a little, let me know if it's still too small. Best ~ Dream Indigo ✩ 00:43, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
