Commercial extensions[edit]

Hi. During our cleanup of Meta, we noticed that you had created two short wiki pages detailing extensions you had made. While the Paypal extension appears to be legit, the integration with IPB appears to cost money and is published under a non-free license. Not only may this be a violation of the GPL license MediaWiki is licensed under, it also constitutes commercial advertisement, and may be speedied. I strongly ask that you comment on the legitimacy of your pages. Thanks! Ambush Commander 03:13, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Ipbwiki package consists in fact of 2 products, they are seperatly downloadable once the component is registered. (Both products are delivered with full source code.)

The 2 products IpbWiki contains are: - IpbWiki Interface: this package contains all functions and procedures related to the Mediawiki side and is as a result licensed under the GPL. - IpbWiki Core: this package contains all functions and procedures related to the Invision Power Board side of the package and is licensed under it's own non-free license.

If you feel the component shouldn't be on the extension pages feel free to remove it.

Best Regards, Peter.
