Global lock request

[edit]

Dear Wikidata administrators,

I am respectfully requesting the removal of the indefinite block on my account "Shahram59i" (and related blocked attempts).

My intent is to contribute **accurate and verifiable information** about the artist Shahram Bahrami Bilehsavar, including official identifiers and publicly available media. All planned edits are based on reliable sources and aim to improve the quality of Wikidata content.

    • Sources for verification:**

- MusicBrainz Artist page: https://musicbrainz.org/artist/8213815d-b86d-4386-9a9e-d972d132d132 - Wikimedia Commons official image: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Shahram_Bahrami_Bilehsavar_2026.png - Spotify official artist page: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6hARiqbqSDXYl8Mu2Anw8P - IMDb official page: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm13116367/

I fully understand past edits may have caused concern. I am committed to strictly following Wikidata guidelines and best practices in all future contributions.

I sincerely request that my account be unblocked so I can continue contributing positively and professionally to Wikidata.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely, Shahram Bahrami Bilehsavar

Reason: Long-term abuse Since February 2024 on en.wikipedia & ta.wikipedia. now it continues at te.wikipedia, kn.wikipedia, es.wikipedia & ml.wikipedia. this is the last account that needs to be locked to prevent cross wiki abuse.

The National Library of the Czech Republic

[edit]

I asked to access the collection. The WL page states "only by Wikipedians from the Czech Republic", but the Czech page states "podmínky doložení usazenosti občanů států EU, Švýcarska, Norska, Islandu, Lichtenštejnska" (I live in Italy). They gave me a code, but I can't access it. When I click on the resource on WL I get "Not found Sorry; we can't find that". I need access to read this journal.--Carnby (talk) 07:52, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi Carnby, thank you for the message! Unfortunately, I missed it. The library can create accounts for any EU citizen (plus few other states), however, it is tricky to actually verify your identity (the ideal way is to use a Czech bank account, or to visit the library's offices in person). Neither of those is practical for someone who's not a Czech resident. If you have a Qualified electronic signature set up (or if you're willing to pay the Czech embassy in Italy a visit), there should still be a way for you to get the library account (and I can provide guidance on that). Let me know whether any of those options would be possible for you. https://www.nkp.cz/sluzby/vzdalena-registrace is the official docs on the library's side. Hi, I was able to get the paper through Resource Request. I think that remote registration is quite complicated, I would be happy if you manage to cancel my subscription to the National Library of the Czech Republic.--Carnby (talk) 05:20, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Reminder: global rename policy requirement

[edit]

You are receiving this message because you are either a Steward or a global renamer. If you are steward and don't perform global rename, you can safely ignore this message.

Hello, this is a general reminder that renames or vanish requests should be reserved for someone who knows the language and local wiki affairs on their home wiki or most active wiki for the first 24 hours after the request is placed.

For the first 24 hours after a rename or vanishing request has been placed, it should only be processed by a renamer who has sufficient proficiency in the language of the requester's home or most active wiki, and is active on that wiki.

Refer to the 2025 RFC adding this rule, and following global-renamers mailing list emails: 1, 2, 3. Thank you.
