Given the anarchic/participatory nature of wikipedia, it seems like the most effective set of next actions is to
- Download the MediaWiki source code
- Hack up a prototype
- Stick the prototype on a test server
- Point the IRC channel to it, invite comments, contributions.
My other (more frequent) tactic for getting something done (create a meta wiki page, point people to it) doesn't seem very effective for getting things rolling. Too much inertia. The idea stagnates :-( -- Kowey 10:35, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
