Contributions to the harassment consultation

[edit]

Hi PhanuelB. Thanks for participating in the consult. I see that you have points to raise about administrators, and how the role can be potentially abused. This is certainly a valid topic for discussion. Would it be possible, instead of using the talk page of the consult (which is more appropriate for discussion about the consult) you create an idea topic and use that topic talk page for discussion? As others have engaged on the topic, it would be a more focused place to talk about it. I appreciate your efforts to anonymize your description of your experience, and I get why you feel constrained by it, but, unfortunately, this process is not about singling out editors, or righting past problems. It's about discussing problems with a strong goal to finding solutions. Your experience must have left you with some ideas for how to improve the problem you witnessed, no? I don't know what an "idea topic" page is. I would like to participate in the discussion of the topic you are addressing. Some page that no one knows about doesn't do any good. I'd like what I write to be where others who have come to this topic can see it. It's your page so you can do what ever you want but I just don't think you're going about this properly.
Anytime a government agency looks at a problem they study specific events related to their area of interest. You might also understand that what you find when you look beneath the surface might not be what you expected. I don't see how your Community Advocacy group can speak with expertise about this in the end without looking at specific incidents.
I wasn't planning on posting anymore new material related to the Kercher topic, although I was going to make some comments on how I believe rules and procedures should be changed.
