Translations items[edit]

I'm so happy to see more people interested in adding items to Tech News. (: Just a tip: You never have to add the numbers for the translation items (e.g. <!--T:42-->) manually; they will be automatically assigned the next time the page is marked or remarked for translation. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 15:22, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Another thing that's confusing most people who add things: When you add items, you have to mentally translate "this week" to next week, as Tech News is distributed on Mondays. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 15:34, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

What do you mean with the link to mw:Help:Parser_functions_in_templates? {{ll}} is not a parser function. I also don't understand the other change, what is "covering" links and what purpose does it have? --MF-W 21:01, 1 January 2017 (UTC)

--Plagiat (talk) 21:30, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Collapse on Wishlist survey pages[edit]

Hi Plagiat, we decided not to use collapse tags on this year's survey pages, like we did last year. We put more emphasis on the discussion this year, and took out the endorsements idea. So I'm taking out the collapse tags you added -- sorry to undo your work. I really appreciate your help with the anchors on those pages. -- DannyH (WMF) (talk) 01:33, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

No problem. --Plagiat (talk) 02:30, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Category:Community Wishlist Survey/Translations/Phrases[edit]

Hi. Are those translations being used? I can't find any place. Matiia (talk) 03:10, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

@Matiia: I wanted to place these phrases in a proposal template for a coming 2017 Community Wishlist Survey. Background: It is a little bit senseless to translate the same text parts again and again (see 2015 Community Wishlist Survey, 2016 Community Wishlist Survey if translations available). With a template we will be able to create a basement for translations. I hope to reach some translators in next survey to involve more non / less English speaking community members. Delete them if they are disturbing you, because I am caught between two stools about placement, or here. --Plagiat (talk) 06:56, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
Ok. And I don't think that you can put them on, this is a local thing and is to translate interface messages. Matiia (talk) 17:28, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

What? [[1]] -- MVP I (talk) 02:13, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

@MVP I: see Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:User_en-3 – This template is replaced by {{#babel:en-3}}, please revert your revert to clear the entries in Special:WantedTemplates. Thank you for support --Plagiat (talk) 02:19, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
Okay, Thank you too. -- MVP I (talk) 02:23, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Update request for two pages[edit]

Hi Plagiat, I have translated Global Reach and Global Reach/Team into Arabic but noticed that the text that was in both pages was outdated. Is it possible if you can update the source text in both so I can translate them using the current updated text? Or if I need to contact another user? HaythamAbulela 13:47, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

@Haytham abulela: done, have fun --Plagiat (talk) 13:52, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the lightning-fast action. :) HaythamAbulela 17:33, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

ContentTranslation/Phrase/For further information see[edit]

Hi. Is this one being used anywhere? Are there supposed to be any more such messages? Because if not, it's better to use Template: namespace for such purposes and include it on the translatable pages using {{TNT}} or {{autotranslate}}. --Piramidion 17:38, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Also take a look at this one: Template:Wikimedia movement affiliates/Content – basically you have a single page for hundreds of typical messages that need to be translated only once and then you can include them on dozens of different pages using the relevant parameters. It's much easier than creating separate pages for some short typical messages.--Piramidion 17:47, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Inspire Campaign survey on outreach to outside knowledge networks[edit]

Inspire Campaign Knowledge Networks Logo.png

Thanks for your participation during the Inspire Campaign focused on outreach to outside knowledge networks from February 2017. I'm interested in hearing your experience during the campaign, so if you're able, I invite you to complete this brief survey to describe how you contributed to the campaign and how you felt about participating. I want to improve how campaigns are run, so let me know if there's something that could be done better for next time.

Please feel free to let me know on my talk page if you have any questions about the campaign or the survey. Thanks! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 18:34, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

(Opt-out instructions)

Survey link error fixed[edit]

Hi there, there was a error with the Inspire survey link that caused the survey to be shown as expired, but has now been fixed. The link in the above message should now bring you to the survey. Apologies, I JethroBT (WMF) 19:20, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
