Rakesh Srivastava[edit]

Rakesh Shrivastava, a seasoned filmmaker with an experience of over 30 decades in the Film Industry. He has worked on National and International platform. His work has been appreciated and screened widely around the globe. Films, Documentary films and T.V programmes directed by him have participated in International and National Film Festivals in countries like France, Japan, Iran, Tehran and have been screened in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Canada, Pakistan and others.


Initially he joined the prestigious repertory of Shri Ram Center for Arts and Culture and the Little Theater Group, Delhi. He was associated with Shivendra Sinha, veteran Film Director, in the film Phir Bhi, and took up the Nehru Fellowship Project on Contemporary Visual Media in Television.

He also formed a group for performing arts, ‘Machan’ and a production house for films, Eye Catcher Films, at Delhi and Mumbai. He has organized a number of theater workshops in different cities of India. His talent, however, is multifaceted for one can see him as an art director, screen play writer and as a visiting teacher in universities like Allahabad University UP, International Mahatma Gandhi Hindi University Vardha (Maharashtra).

He made films like : NETRAHEEN SAKSHI : A feature film produced for Children’s Films Society of India, it was based on the award-winning novel the Blind Witness. The film had the honour of invitation for participation in the Isfahan International Films Festival, Teheran & 5th & 6th International Children’s Films Festival, Trivandrum.

BAHADUR TOM : First Children’s Feature film for Doordarshan, produced and directed by Rakesh Srivastava, was based on the classic novel Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. The film participated in the 7th International Children Films Festival Udaipur (India), Egypt, Tehran and Asian Film Festival Hyderabad.

A LITERARY ODYSSEY : A film for Sahitya Akademi on the life and work of the veteran scholar and former chairman Sahitya Akademi Prof Gopi Chand Narang screened at Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, Allahabad, Panta, USA, Canada and Qatar.
