Needs assessment[edit]

  1. Aaryaa - I would like to suggest on special workshop for active editors who are trainers also. In this workshop these participants will learn how to deal with different kind of articles. Because every article needs the exact knowledge included regarding its own need. For ex. sports related article needs special information which is not supposed to be included in any other article related with agriculture. What should be the content should be or should not be there etc. Organise Conference for Indian editors.
  2. Tiven2240 - Facilitating technical development on Wikipedia
  3. Nanaji Shewale - GIPE would like to collaborate the future training programs with CIS-A2K. Already we were involved in 5-6 meetings / workshops / activities. We wish all the success.
  4. Pooja - We are working for Makers movement. We think there is need to work on WikiHow in Marathi as well.
  5. Shailaja - We being in urban set up, probably there is a need to look it differently. For Urban set up, the program needs to be more elaborate with Google earth and other mapping details. Information needs to be all inclusive. Organizing webinars or online informative presentations in regional languages wrt water, Rivers, agriculture, environment, pollution and solutions etc. Creating all inclusive online information on Rivers, River ecosystems. Current data, success stories and related information.
  6. Rajshekhar Shinde - Conceptual writing program to be conducted
  7. Ravindra Chincholkar - One week long workshop, yearly activities to be planned
  8. Rajendra Prabhune -
    1. Widespread WIKI-Editing Awareness programs are needed first to promote post graduate students, professionals and experts in various fields to edit in Wikipedia. Otherwise wiki-aware but non-expert persons tend to add trash/useless/wrong/misleading/promotional material in non-wiki style.
    2. Wikipedia editing tutorials, Wikidata training, Wikisource training, ets come next.
    3. Activities like Edit-a-thons, Photothon/Image-a-thon, etc. are good to create initial enthusiasm. But, based on my experience, it is my opinion that the content of such contributions is not up to the mark. Enthusiastic attempt and Dedicated attempt are basically different things.
  9. QueerEcofeminist - Admin tools, bots, scripts etc ; Dealing with vandalism and copyvio
  11. Sunita Barve - CIS-A2K can initiate more programs under GLAMs project. Archives are as well important in libraries and training needs to be provided to libraries to archive important documents available in libraries. Libraries need to be trained on scanning and OCR of contents available with them with available technologies. Libraries also need to be trained on creating good catalogues of documents available in libraries.
